The place

Small basic two-bunk bivouac managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Victoria Forest Park, Greymouth area on the West Coast (South Island, New Zealand). Free access. No DOC-marked track: independent navigation required with map, compass and GPS. River crossings must be assessed; do not cross in flood conditions or if uncertain. Isolated hut in a high valley reserved for experienced backcountry trampers.
