Basic DOC hut with 4 bunks at 971 m in Ruahine Forest Park (Manawatu/Whanganui, NZ). Built in 1981 by John Pickford using salvaged materials and river gravel. Free. No marked track: access from Longview Hut via the Pohangina (waterfalls to be negotiated with care); Rocky Knob via the open tops; Leon Kinvig Hut up the river; Ngamoko Tops via a direct descent. Routes are unmarked and unmaintained, with river crossings — backcountry navigation skills essential.
