The two Tømtehyttene — Lille Tømtehytta and Store Tømtehytta — located on the same property in Nordmarka (Oslo, Norway), run by DNT Oslo og Omegn. Lille Tømtehytta is a cozy little log cabin open with the standard DNT key, while Store Tømtehytta (about 60 m²) has a combined living-room-kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and 8 sleeping spaces in total. Easy access from Skar (Maridalen valley) by bus 51 Nydalen-Maridalen to the second-to-last stop, then a blue-marked trail to the Tømtehyttene. The first 400 meters are on a forest track, then on a gradually rising trail; total distance about 3.5 km. Lovely sunny outdoor spots. Booking required through DNT (members only), the person booking must be at least 18 years old. Dogs are allowed inside Lille Tømtehytta. No parties allowed on site. Ideal for escaping Oslo into nature by public transport.
Getting there
Bus 51 Nydalen-Maridalen to the second-to-last stop (before Skar), then a 3.5 km blue-marked trail. DNT booking required.
