Thoiry Derrière

The place

Chalet on the Thoiry-Derrière alpine pasture (sometimes Derrière-Thoiry), at 1591 m in the Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve (Ain). Very basic shelter: 2 places on a low bunk, holed roof, no stove, no table, no bench — useful mainly for getting out of the wind. The reserve bans dogs (even on a leash), fires, camping, foraging, motor vehicles and littering.
