The place

Free open wilderness hut (autiotupa) with 8 places in the Käsivarsi wilderness area (Enontekiö, Northern Lapland, Finland), on the north shore of Lake Termisjärvi (5 km long), just west of a stream coming from Salmikuru. About 15 km from Kilpisjärvi. Managed by Metsähallitus as a standard combined hut: free autiotupa + bookable varaustupa (Dierpmesjávri / Termisjärvi) in the same building. Woodshed, dry toilet, recycling point. No marked trail in summer: orienteering skills required. Ski season: March-April. Summer season: early July to early September.
