Teplitzerhütte - Rifugio Vedretta Pendente
The place
Staffed alpine hut at 2586 m in the Ridnauntal (Val Ridanna, municipality of Racines / Ratschings, South Tyrol), on a rocky terrace south of the Hängender Ferner (Vedretta Pendente) in the Stubai Alps. Exceptional panoramic position, a classic base for glacier climbs to the Sonklarspitze (3471 m) and the Botzer (3251 m). Approach from the head of the Ridanna valley and the mining museum: follow trail no. 9 through the forest and along the Fernerbach (moderately steep) to the Aglsboden, then a steeper climb to the Grohmannhütte (2254 m) and a steep final stretch to the Teplitzer Hütte. A bit of history
La Teplitzerhütte (Rifugio Vedretta Pendente en italien), à 2586 m au fond de la vallée de Ridnaun (Alpes de Stubai, Tyrol du Sud), a été construite en 1889 par la section Teplitz du club alpin germano-autrichien (DuÖAV). Après la Première Guerre mondiale, elle est passée sous la garde-frontière italienne, avant d'être confiée à la section CAI de Sterzing/Vipiteno en 1979. Sa propriété a été transférée à la province autonome du Tyrol du Sud en 1999, et depuis 2015 elle est gérée par une commission conjointe réunissant la province, le club alpin sud-tyrolien (AVS) et le CAI. Elle offre 28 lits et 50 places en dortoir, ouverts de début juillet à fin septembre.
