Standard hut with 6 bunks at 449 m in Ruahine Forest Park (Manawatu/Whanganui, NZ). Managed by the NZ Deerstalkers Association, Manawatu branch. Water tank and wood stove. Rates: adults $10/night, youths $5, free under 5. No bookings: Standard or Backcountry Hut Pass ticket required. Access crosses farmland: landowner permission required in advance, DOC does not provide contact details. Limited alternatives: no public road connects Pohangina Valley East Road to the park. Forks-Te Ekaou track: steep sections requiring caution.
