Topo50 BF39 coordinates, E1949471 / N5733212. A dense forest setting within the hut network jointly managed under co-governance by Te Uru Taumatua (Ngāi Tūhoe) and DOC. NB: Te Uru Taumatua began in 2022 a programme to remove 44 backcountry huts in Te Urewera — check the current status.
