The place

Unstaffed DNT Nord-Trøndelag cabin at 205 m on Byafjellet near Steinkjer, the association's first local recreation facility. Six mezzanine mattresses, electricity, running water, wood stove. Locked with a special DNT Nord-Trøndelag key. Regular events: waffle and drink service every Sunday of the year from 11 am to 2 pm. The area offers hiking trails, open shelters, grills, free firewood, a jetty, rowboats and canoes. Rates member/non-member: 100/200 NOK per single night, 1000 NOK for a full weekend rental, 500 NOK for a group day rental without overnight stay. Summer access: 4 km along a forest track from the E6 or 3 km from the Steinkjer ski stadium; winter: 3 km along a ski trail from the stadium.
