The place

DNT cabin in a peaceful spot near "Den svarte tjørni", at the heart of the Setesdal Vesthei (Valle municipality, Aust-Agder), where two streams meet. Neighboring peak Urdalsknuten at 1434 m. Capacity 20 beds in three rooms: two on the ground floor with 4 beds each, a mezzanine with 12 beds. Self-service category. Facilities: gas kitchen, solar lighting, wood stove, toilet, drying/laundry room, swimming area, tent pitches, 12 V, phone charging (USB-A and USB-C). Access from the north via Berg → Stavskar → Bossbu (RV9); from the south via Brokke-Suleskarveien or Evardalen; private toll road in summer from Evardalen. Open 21 May to 14 April (closed 15 April-20 May for wild reindeer migration). Beds bookable in advance, payment via the DNT app, DNT member discount. Outdoor dog kennel.
