The place

The Studenckie Schronisko Turystyczne "Lasek" (formerly "Chatka Elektryków"), a student refuge just below the summit of Mount Łosek (868 m) in the Pasmo Laskowskie (part of the Pasmo Jałowieckiego, in the Beskid Makowski massif under Kondracki's regionalization). Located among the remains of the former hamlet of Łosek, between Koszarawa and Pewel Wielka, south of the summit on the yellow trail toward Koszarawa. **A building more than 100 years old, run as a refuge for nearly 40 years**: in 1971, members of the ELEKT tourist club of the Electrical Engineering Department of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice acquired and converted the cottage. Capacity of about 40 people across 5 rooms, including a large one in the attic. Bring a sleeping bag. Amenities: mains electricity, running water, gas-equipped kitchen (no meal service), common room, toilet, bathroom with optional hot-water shower, dormitories. Open every weekend from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, and every day during school holidays. Booking recommended.
