The place

Timber cabin (Nystadnesstua) originally built at Nystadnes between 1915 and 1917, possibly older, received by Stiftelsen Nordland nasjonalparksenter as a donation from Finn Martin Nystadnes in 2004. Restored and re-erected at Roparneset next to the national park centre, opened in summer 2007 (Saltdal, Nordland, Norway). Twelve sleeping places in total, gas stove for cooking, wood stove for heating; firewood available in the adjoining shed, dry toilets at the forest edge behind the shelter. Located right by the E6 road, near the Saltdal turistsenter and the Nordland nasjonalparksenter, a direct starting point for Junkerdalsura and Junkerdal National Park.
