The place

Unstaffed DNT Ringerike cabin located at 889 m in Bogen, with panoramic views over Vassfarporten. The site comprises two buildings: the main cabin (six bunks plus two extra spaces in the mezzanine) and the small Veslekrak cabin (three bunks, dogs allowed). Facilities: wood stoves and propane heating, solar panels with phone charging, a kitchen equipped in each building, water drawn from the nearby Fjellelva river, a bathing pool dug into the riverbed. Open year-round with a standard DNT key (members only). Summer access: 2 h from Bogbrua via a toll road closed to traffic, or 3 h 30 on a blue-marked trail from Sørbølsetran; in winter, the same route unploughed, skis or snowshoes required; cycling possible (5 km, 350 m elevation gain). Visitors with a reservation have priority for beds but cannot deny access to other users. Day visitors must leave the premises before 6 pm unless they pay for meal preparation and heating.
