The place

Bach (holiday cottage) managed by DOC, located at 14 m on the east coast of the northern Coromandel Peninsula tip, 55 km north of Coromandel Township. Small one-bedroom house sleeping five (two sets of bunks plus a sofa bed in the living room). Fully equipped: electric oven with utensils, fridge-freezer, microwave, fan heater, hot shower and flush toilet. Bring bedding, pillows and towels. Dogs not permitted. Fee until 30 June 2026: NZD 112 per night on weekdays, NZD 130 on weekends and during peak season (23 December to 16 January), minimum two nights. Check-in 2pm, check-out 11am. Booking required online at bookings.doc.govt.nz, key via code lockbox sent by email. Access via unsealed roads north of Colville, about 1 h 30 drive, dead-end road.
