Stierenstallhütte
The place
Forest cabin at 614 m on the Gelterkinden plateau (Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland), owned by the local commune (Bürgergemeinde). Built in 1950 and extended in 1968 and again in 2013. The cabin itself is kept locked for open access; the outdoor veranda with tables and benches is public. The name recalls the old stable for draft oxen, from when the plateau was farmed, up until the 19th century.
