The place
Staffed refuge at 2,875 m just below the Eisjöchl in the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park (Texelgruppe), South Tyrol. Forty beds spread across six wooden cabins with four bathrooms (since July 2018). A stage on the Meraner Höhenweg, accessible from Pfelders or Plan. The original hut, built between 1895 and 1897, was rebuilt in 1992 and then severely damaged by an avalanche in February 2014. Progressively reopened from 2017 and fully rebuilt in 2022.

A bit of history
Original hut 1895-1897, rebuilt in 1992. Destroyed by an avalanche in February 2014. Overnight stays resumed in 2017, six wooden cabins available from July 2018, full reconstruction completed in 2022.
