The place

Free-standing StarsBox Lüf cabin in the municipality of Gambarogno (district of Locarno, Ticino, Switzerland — not Trentino / Lessinia as one might assume). Located near Monte Gambarogno and the Alpe di Neggia. The StarsBox® concept (a network of small wooden cabins with an opening roof for stargazing) is widespread in Italy; this Swiss example is a minimal hiking stopover in the Tamaro / Gambarogno range overlooking the eastern shore of Lago Maggiore. Access from Indemini or the Alpe di Neggia via marked trails; mineral scenery, alpine meadows and a viewpoint over the lake.
