The place

Free open wilderness hut (autiotupa) run by Metsähallitus on the northeast shore of Lake Staalojärvi, north of the Kallajärvi lakes in the Pöyrisjärvi wilderness area (Enontekiö, Tunturi-Lappi, Finnish Lapland). A shared shelter for a break or a free overnight stay; open and unlocked, maximum 1-2 nights without prior booking under Finnish rules. Capacity 12 beds. Site managed by Metsähallitus within a state-owned area that includes several autiotupas and a bookable varaustupa.
