The place

A privately staffed lodge (betjent turisthytte) at the heart of Norway's Jotunheimen, at 1,106 m in the Visdalen, about 10 km southeast of Galdhøpiggen. Capacity of about 220-230 beds, the largest private lodge in Jotunheimen, on a former route between Gudbrandsdalen and Valdres. Facilities for tents and campervans, sanitary blocks. Classic base for climbing Galdhøpiggen (2,469 m), Norway's highest point.
