Standard 6-bunk hut at 994 m in the Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park (Mid & South Canterbury, NZ). Owned and managed by the Mackenzie Alpine Trust - Lake Tekapo; donations accepted on site. No marked trail: access follows the South Opuha River (5-6 h total, 3-4 h to the conservation area then 2 h to the hut). Entry points: Clayton Road bridge, or the legal unformed road from Stoneleigh Road (with prior contact with the landowner). Helicopter access possible with a permit. Backcountry conditions: map/compass/GPS essential, river crossings must be assessed (do not cross in flood).
