The place

Complex of two DNT cabins in Telemark (Norway), at 600 metres altitude, about 2 km from Lake Eiangen. Run by Skien Turlag (DNT Telemark) as self-service cabins. Total capacity of 12 beds: Foreningshytta (5 beds, advance booking required, with boat access and gate key) and Stallen (7 beds, drop-in with standard DNT key). Facilities: gas stove, wood stove, solar lighting, shared toilets and woodshed. Summer access by car via Eiangsvegen (gate key to collect from the DNT Skien office); in winter, ski access only from the gate, about 6 km further. No dogs at Foreningshytta; caged dogs allowed in the uninsulated annexe at Stallen. Trail network to regional peaks (Skårrafjell 814 m), winter cross-country skiing via the Steinbruløypa. Preferential rates for DNT members, payment via the DNT app or invoice.
