The place

Unstaffed DNT Oslo og Omegn cabin located on the abandoned Øvre Snellingen farm, in the northern Romeriksåsene (Akershus, Norway), at 525 metres elevation. A 19th-century dairy building of historic character, about 30 m² split into two rooms: a living room-kitchen with 2 beds and a bedroom with 6 beds, for 8 beds total. Unstaffed cabin, opened with the standard DNT key (reserved for members), advance booking required. Excellent starting point for the lengthwise crossing of the Romeriksåsene towards Råbjørnhytta or the Jotunheimstien; area rich in cultural and historical monuments (notably the Snellingsrøysene, 2 km to the east).
