The place

Self-service cabin of DNT Oslo og Omegn in Skarvheimen, at 1,315 m in the highlands south of Jotunheimen. Opened in 1975 to link the cabins of Jotunheimen and Skarvheimen. Fourteen beds in total: 6 pre-bookable and 8 drop-in. Fully equipped kitchen, dishes and bedding provided, pantry with provisions, no electricity — gas heating, wood stove, candlelight. Season mid-February to mid-October. Booking via hyttebestilling.dnt.no or on-site payment via the DNT app; arrive before 7 pm for booked bunks. Øst-vest-xpressen bus to Tyinkrysset. Dogs outside only, dog shelter by prior arrangement.
