Skjellbreidhytta

The place

Self-service DNT Lillehammer hut at about 920 metres elevation, at the foot of Prestkjerringa (1,060 m) in Fåberg Vestfjell (Innlandet, Norway), on the Jotunheimstien trail. The hut is accessible almost right to the door by car. Fixed beds in two rooms plus a loft with 3 to 4 extra places. Self-service mode since 2022: beds in one room can be pre-booked, with free walk-in access in the other. Solar power system and good lighting installed in autumn 2020. A rowing boat is available to guests on the nearby Skjellbreidvatnet (a lake with pure trout).
