The place

The unstaffed Skavlabu turisthytte hut, managed by Bergen og Hordaland Turlag (DNT), at 960 meters elevation above the Modalsfjellene, beside a small lake in the Stølsheimen area (Vestland, Norway). Twenty-one beds in total: the main building has 18 beds across two ground-floor rooms and a mezzanine room upstairs, plus a three-bed emergency cabin with a dog kennel. Unlocked, accessible year-round. A well-stocked provisions store, kitchen equipment, crockery, gas, wood, and candles. T-marked trails from Svartavatnet, Mo, Dyrkolbotn, and Vardadalsbu.
