Getting there
Pleasant family cabin of DNT Troms Turlag, accessible by bike up to the cabin. 3 buildings: main cabin (4 large beds) + annexe (2 beds) + unheated annexe (4 beds) = 10 places. Locked with a DNT key (Sparebanken Narvik, Visit Narvik, Sportcentret). Summer car access via road from Fjellbu (Skjomdalen) through Sørdalen with switchbacks, Iptojávri, Kjårdavatnet/Čoađgejávri (barrier), then a 7 km gravel road (~2 h walk). From Paurohytta heading north along the Sitasjávrre reservoir.
The setting
Narvikfjellene, north shore of Siidasjávri (Sitasjaure), ~1 km from the Swedish border (Bardu, Troms, 68.10°N 17.23°E, 630 m, Norway). On the Nordkalottruta, E1, and Grensesømmen. Troms cluster with Lappjordhytta (batch 51) and Cáihnavággihytta (batch 52).
