Severn Hut

The place

Standard DOC hut with 6 bunks in the Molesworth Recreation Reserve (southern Marlborough), at 1,095 m. Backcountry, no marked trail: self-navigation (map, compass, GPS) essential. Several unbridged river crossings — river-crossing skills required, avoid in flood. No booking, payment by hut tickets or Backcountry Hut Pass (10/5 NZ$ until 30 June 2026).
