The place
Schutzhütte of the Schwäbischer Albverein, located in the wooded hills above Esslingen am Neckar (Baden-Württemberg), in the Moletshalde area on the northwest slopes of the Schurwald. Located at about 368 m, along the scenic Steige trails overlooking the Neckar valley. A typical Schwäbischer Albverein shelter-gazebo: a wooden structure on posts with a fixed bench-table and a steep roof, open to hikers for daytime breaks. The Albverein, founded in 1888, manages more than 24 Wanderheime and a network of Schutzhütten across the entire Schwäbische Alb and its foothills. A mixed forest setting in the Alb foothills with views over Esslingen and the Neckar valley. A stage on local hiking trails marked by the Esslingen section of the Albverein.
