The place
The Schronisko PTTK na Maciejowej, or Bacówka PTTK na Maciejowej, is a small Polish refuge run by the PTTK (Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society), located at 852 m on the Przysłop clearing, in the Gorce mountains (Beskids), southeast of Rabka-Zdrój. Built in 1977 to a design inspired by traditional Podhale architecture, it is one of the ten so-called qualified small Polish refuges. It offers rooms for 2, 3 or 4 people in tourist-standard accommodation and operates year-round. Panoramic views from the Wierchowa to the Babia Góra, and on clear days over the Tatra range.
Getting there
Access from Rabka-Zdrój via the red trail toward Stare Wierchy and Turbacz, near the Gorce National Park.
