Schreckhornhütte
The place
Staffed Swiss Alpine Club hut at 2,530 m near Grindelwald, in the Bernese Oberland, on the UNESCO World Heritage site Jungfrau-Aletsch. Sixty-five sleeping places in season, twenty in the winter shelter. Prime location near the iconic peaks Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Base for climbing the Schreckhorn (4,078 m) and the Lauteraarhorn. The access trail is ranked among the most beautiful and demanding in the Swiss Alps: a blue-white alpine route with fixed chains and ropes, waterproof mountain boots recommended.
