The place

Self-service cabin managed by DNT Rana og omegn (Nordland, northern Norway), at 960 meters altitude in the eastern part of the municipality of Rana, near the Swedish border, a stop on the E1, Grensesømmen and Nordlandsruta trails on the east bank of the outlet of Austre Sauvatnet. Main building with three rooms and six beds, plus three loft spaces; safety cabin (sikringshytta) with two additional bunks, for 9 places total. Equipped kitchen, dishware, wood-stove heating, gas cooker, solar lighting. Self-service mode: guests handle their own cooking, water, dishwashing and cleaning. Access by DNT key.
