Sattelbergalm Refuge: A Charming Spot in the Wild The Sattelbergalm Refuge, also called Sattelalm, is nestled in the Stubai Alps at 1633 meters altitude, in the Austrian region of Tyrol, near the border with Trentino-South Tyrol in Italy, on the Sattelberg. It should not be confused with the Sattelalm located a little further south. Practical Information Opening: Closed since 2006. Access: Located on the Tiroler Höhenweg, with a toboggan run leading to Vinaders. Activities: Starting point for several ski touring routes, and in summer, a favorite spot for mountain bikers and hikers. Accommodation: Rooms available as well as a dormitory. Shortest route: Starting from Vinaders or from a car park above Gries am Brenner (under a Brenner motorway bridge).
