The place

Self-service cabin managed by Kristiansund og Nordmøre Turistforening (DNT) in the Surnadal valley, southern side, on the network linking the Fjordruta and the Trollheimen network, between Hermannhytta and Vindølbu. Eight sleeping places across two rooms with bunk beds and a sofa. No electricity: wood stove, gas cooker, large fireplace in the living area, outdoor dry toilets. Water from the stream 100 metres away, swimming possible nearby. Mobile coverage available. Summer access about 1 h from Sagatun town centre, or 30 min from a car park located 1.5 km west of Sagatun. Cabin open year-round, unlocked (no DNT key required). Sign the register on arrival and settle payment before departure, preferably via the DNT Betaling app. Fishing possible at Grytvatnet.
