s'Alzina
The place
Balearic refuge managed by the Consell de Mallorca, located next to a large holm oak wood (encinar) and around 4 km from the coast, in the Parc Natural de la Península de Llevant (Mallorca, Balearic Islands). Like the Refugio de s'Arenalet, s'Alzina is fitted out in one of the former summer-grazing houses of the Albarca estate, on the trail linking s'Alqueria Vella to es Verger and then Albarca. A walk of about 1 h 30 to 2 h from s'Alqueria Vella. Capacity for 10 beds spread over two floors: 5 double rooms, 3 with a private bathroom, and additional washrooms in the corridors. Booking required via the Xarxa de Refugis del Consell de Mallorca. An exceptional Mediterranean setting of holm oak woods, scrubland and wild coastline in north-eastern Mallorca.
