The place
SAC hut rebuilt in 2023/24, perched at 3,180 m above Zermatt, co-owned by the Oberaargau and Lägern sections. Fifty-four beds spread across rooms of eight. Staffed from mid-July to mid-September, it serves as a starting point for high-mountain routes to the Wellenkuppe, Obergabelhorn, and Zinalrothorn. Panoramic views of the Matterhorn and the peaks of the Valais range.
