Rosa dels Vents (Compass Rose) in the Cabrera archipelago, off the southern coast of Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain), at 10 m altitude. An island refuge within the Cabrera Archipelago Maritime-Terrestrial National Park (created 1991, 18 islands, the largest marine park in the western Mediterranean). Mediterranean scrubland zone with rosemary, cistus and Aleppo pine. Heritage of the Saracens and the Napoleonic era (prison, 4,000 deaths, 1809-1814).
