Rojacher Hütte: An Authentic High-Mountain Experience The Rojacher Hütte is a Category I hut belonging to the Rauris section of the Austrian Alpine Association. Nestled in the Goldberg mountain group, at an elevation of 2718 meters, it lies about 1 km in a straight line southeast of the summit of the Hoher Sonnblick (3105 m) or the Zittelhaus. History Name: Ignaz Rojacher (1844–1891), an industrialist from Rauris. Construction: Built in 1898-1899 by his friend, the Bohemian agricultural expert Wilhelm Ritter von Arlt, in honor of Rojacher. Improvements: Extension towards the rock face in 1992, completed and inaugurated on July 16, 1994. Owned by the Rauris section of the Austrian Alpine Association since 1984. Access By car: from Rauris to "Bodenhaus", then toll road to the "Lenzanger" parking lot. In summer: by postal bus 640 from Zell am See via Taxenbach, Rauris and Bucheben to Kolm-Saigurn. Approach From the "Lenzanger" parking lot via the Kolm-Saigurn nature-friends' house (1598 m), passing the Neubau nature-friends' house (2175 m), about 3 hours' walk. Connections to Neighboring Huts Starting point of the Austrian long-distance Zentralalpenweg trail, a 1200 km route from Hainburg to Feldkirch. Zittelhaus (3105 m), 1½ hours' walk. Duisburger Hütte (2572 m), 3 hours' walk. Niedersachsenhaus (2471 m), 3 hours' walk. Neubau nature-friends' house (2175 m), 1¼ hours' walk. Ascents Hoher Sonnblick (3105 m) in 1 to 1½ hours (marked route from the east to the Hoher Sonnblick or to the Zittelhaus). Alteck (2942 m) in 2 to 2½ hours (with glacier crossing). Getting there
En voiture via Rauris jusqu'au Bodenhaus, puis route à péage jusqu'au parking de Lenzanger. Un bus postal (ligne 640) relie Zell am See à Kolm-Saigurn en passant par Rauris en été. Depuis Kolm-Saigurn, compter environ 3 à 3h30 de marche et environ 1118 m de dénivelé positif.
The setting
Perché à 2718 m dans le massif du Goldberg (Goldberggruppe), sous-groupe des Hohe Tauern, à environ 1 km au sud-est du sommet du Hoher Sonnblick (3106 m). L'un des plus petits refuges alpins de la région, construction robuste recouverte de bardeaux.
A bit of history
Construite en 1898-1899 à l'initiative de Wilhelm Ritter von Arlt, agronome d'origine bohémienne, en hommage à Ignaz Rojacher (1844-1891), exploitant minier local. Acquise en 1925 par la section de Halle du club alpin austro-allemand ; propriété de la section de Rauris du club alpin autrichien (Österreichischer Alpenverein) depuis 1984.

Refuge de catégorie I du club alpin autrichien, section Rauris. 10 places sur plateformes à matelas. Ouvert de fin juin à fin septembre (extension possible début octobre selon météo). Toilettes extérieures, eau de pluie pour la toilette, paiement en espèces uniquement, ravitaillement par hélicoptère.
