The place

Standard DOC backcountry hut with 16 bunks in Mount Richmond Forest Park, in the Pelorus River valley (Marlborough). Access: 5 h 30 from the Brook Street road end; 3 h from Middy Creek Hut. Fees: NZ$15/night adult, NZ$7.50 youth (5-17 years), free under 4. Payable with hut tickets in the honesty box or a Backcountry Hut Pass. Te Araroa Trail Pass accepted.
