Rifugio Zamboni Zappa

The place

CAI refuge at 2070 m in the meadows of the Alpe Pedriola in Val Anzasca, at the foot of the east face of Monte Rosa (4635 m), in the Walser commune of Macugnaga (Piedmont, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola). Built in 1925 by the Società Escursionisti Milanesi (SEM), belongs to the CAI SEM Milano section. Opens early June (weather permitting), closes late September (conditions permitting). Full-service, bar and restaurant with a panoramic terrace overlooking the Monte Rosa peaks, local cuisine and traditional specialities.
