The place
Unmanned refuge at 1882 m altitude in Lavizzara (Vallemaggia district, Ticino, Switzerland). Former farmhouse converted in 1986, replaced by a new modern building inaugurated in 2015 a few meters from Lac Tomeo. An important logistics stop on the Via Alta Vallemaggia (50 km alpine route from Locarno/Cardada to Fusio).
