Rifugio Poggio Cavallaro

The place

A rifugio in the Casentinesi Forests National Park (Tuscan-Romagnol Apennines). Dining room with fireplace, LPG kitchen, two rooms totaling 12 bunk beds, bathroom with rainwater cistern, wood stove, diesel generator, wood storage garage. Access via trail 319 from the provincial road (3.5 km) or via forest track from the Col du Manzo (5.5 km). Closed since August 2023 following a landslide — check current status before planning a visit.
