Rifugio Pesciola
The place
Rifugio Baita Pesciöla at 2004 m, on a scenic ridge of Val d'Arigna, just below the Arigna / Malgina watershed (Orobie Alps, municipality of Ponte in Valtellina, province of Sondrio, Lombardy). Created in 1997 through the rehabilitation of a former shelter; managed by the CAI Ponte in Valtellina sub-section. Access from Centrale Armisa in 2-3 h for 950 m of ascent. Self-managed refuge: usually closed, keys to be requested from the CAI sub-section. Fully equipped: solar panels, kitchen with stove and gas bottle, running water, stove, wooden furniture, bathroom with wood-fired water heater, upstairs dormitory with mattresses, pillows and blankets. An important waypoint on the Gran Via delle Orobie.
