The place
Privately-run staffed refuge nestled in the upper Val Formazza, on the Piedmont side of the Lepontine Alps. At 2,157 m, it offers seventy dormitory places and welcomes hikers, mountain bikers and climbers. Open in summer from June to September, and also in the winter season from December to April for ski touring and snowshoeing. Starting point for the Basòdino, the Sabbioni lakes and the Swiss border. Half-board recommended, free Wi-Fi and e-bike charging available.
