Rifugio Lavill

The place

The self-service Lavill refuge sits at 2,023 metres above Dongio in the Val di Blenio (Ticino, Switzerland). A former alpine pasture hut converted into a refuge with 10 beds in 2019. Facilities: drinking water, wood stove, bathroom, hearth, cooking equipment, drinks, showers, beds and tables. Unstaffed refuge, normally open from May to October. Access from Dongio-Crespogno, Stabbio-Primasté-Alpe Doigia, or from Biasca/Val Malvaglia in about 4 h; from Russign about 3 h. Great hikes toward the Cima di Simano, the Prou refuge, or the Val Malvaglia high route. Listed with the SAC (Swiss Alpine Club) and on the Ticino tourism portal.
