The place
Socede di Sotto forest refuge at 1535 m (external sources; DB 1537 m) along the Val Cia, with views of the main Lagorai range (Trentino, Italy). Formerly a logistical base for summer pastoral farming and forestry management, restored and now operating as a bivouac shelter: hearth, water collection, communal kitchen. Access from the Rifugio Refavaie: a route of 7 km with 450 m of elevation gain. An alpine Lagorai setting, a base for outings towards the Cima Socede, Forcella Magna, Col degli Uccelli, and the Val Campelle. A winter stop for snowshoeing and ski touring, and in summer for mountain biking and trekking (notably the Trentino Bike Trail).
