The place
First refuge in the municipality of Rivodutri (province of Rieti, Lazio, Italy), known as "Case Micacchi," at 1267 m. Located along the trail connecting the Faggio di S. Francesco to the Passo la Fara, in the Monti Reatini (central Apennines). A stopover for hikers crossing these mid-mountain trails. Unstaffed forest refuge, minimal facilities, in a wooded beech-forest setting. Managed as part of the CAI Rieti refuge network.

Ce refuge est le premier d'une paire de constructions forestières jumelles situées sur le territoire de Rivodutri. Il n'est pas gardé, mais reste bien entretenu, et dispose d'un auvent couvert équipé d'une cheminée et d'une table.
