Rifugio Federico Chabod

The place

Staffed refuge at 2710 m in the Valsavarenche valley, Gran Paradiso National Park (Aosta Valley, Italy), at the foot of the north-west face of the Gran Paradiso. Capacity 85 beds with private sanitation. The idea of building the refuge was born in autumn 1966 within a group of Alpine Guides; park authorisation was obtained in 1976 and the refuge was inaugurated on 28 July 1985. A major extension was carried out around 2016 to improve reception and services. Spring season from 20 March to 10 May, weekends 14-17 May, summer season from 28 May to 20 September.
