The place

Ligurian Apennines refuge at 1397 m, on the north slope of Monte Ebro (1700 m), in Val Curone (Alessandria, Piedmont). Built in 1974 on the initiative of Ezio Orsi (CAI Tortona), inaugurated in September 1975. Rebuilt in 2003, reopened in 2004. Agreement with the Province of Alessandria for school use. Run by volunteers on a rotating weekend basis. Annual attendance ~2000 people.

Getting there

1 h on foot from the Colonia di Caldirola (trail 106), or 30 min from the Stalle di Salogni (trail 113).
