Rifugio Cinquemiglia di Fuscaldo
The place
Refuge in the Bosco di Cinquemiglia, in the municipality of Fuscaldo (province of Cosenza, Calabria, Italy), at about 1071 m. A forest setting of chestnut and beech trees between Fuscaldo and San Benedetto Ullano, a sector connecting the Sila National Park toward Tropea. The Bosco di Cinquemiglia is home to century-old beech trees (part of Calabria's natural heritage). An important stage on the Cammino di San Francesco di Paola: the usual starting point from the Rifugio Bosco Cinquemiglia to reach the Sanctuary of San Francesco in Paola in about 9 hours' walk. The area offers a refuge, a scattered-accommodation option and two agritourism farms.
