Rifugio Bocca della Valle
The place
Small refuge in a meadow at the edge of a beautiful beech wood, at the pass (“bocca”) at the foot of the Monte Acuto — the second summit of the Catria group, the twin of the main summit, marked with a large cross. Monte Catria massif, in the Marche region (central Italy). The road from Acquaviva di Cagli that climbs towards the Catria passes through I Vai and continues to near Tenetra before descending down the flanks of the Acuto, where Bocca della Valle is located. Right nearby is a large shelter called “Casetta dei Mochi” just below the meadows. A stop on the CAI network (trails 260, 261A) — access to the other refuges and summits of the Catria.
